Ineos Olefins & Polymers Europe has launched a new Recycl-IN hybrid polymer grade containing 70% recycled material. The solution was developed to improve the sustainability of contact-sensitive cosmetics packaging.
The new product is a natural color PP homopolymer designed for thin-walled injection molding and fiber extrusion.
According to the company, the new grade rPP1025C offers stiffness for shape retention, a premium feel, and reliable functionality. It also provides strong heat resistance, supporting product stability and extended shelf life.
“Recycl-IN hybrid polymers deliver the strength, aesthetics, and processing ease customers expect — while increasing recycled content and reducing CO2 emissions. This is achieved by combining high levels of mechanically recycled plastic with advanced ‘booster’ polymers,” says Ineos.

“Like all the Ineos Recycl-IN grades, rPP1025C is a true drop-in solution for demanding applications as the ease of processing, mechanical strength, and optical properties remain comparable to the qualities of virgin PP, while delivering a 35% lower carbon footprint.”
Drop-in solution
Ineos’ new hybrid polymer is said to be suited for the production of stiff, colored, or translucent components, including screw caps, jars, and lids. It can also be applied to mascara reservoirs and caps, deodorant roller balls, as well as spray-over caps and other dispenser parts.
The recycled materials are covered by a US Food and Drug Administration No Objection Letter and certified as post-consumer recyclate by RecyClass, in line with ISO 14021 environmental labelling standards.
The launch marks the second Recycl-IN hybrid grade that Ineos has developed for cosmetics packaging, building on the previous rPP2030C, which is designed for flip-top caps, closures, as well as dosers and pumps.
Ineos earlier participated in the Nextloopp project team, alongside L’Oréal, Unilever, Lyondellbasell, PFF Group, and others, to “boost the circular pathway for food-grade rPP packaging.”
